Landscape

The main habitat of the Kruger is the Lowveld.

The vegetation is relatively dense everywhere, especially during the rainy season. The northern part of the national park is in the tropical climate zone, the southern part in the subtropical zone and the central part in the transition zone. This variety of landscapes is also related to the lush vegetation. In the north of the park, the vegetation is denser than in the south due to increased rainfall. Here one also finds the characteristic baobab, the African baobab tree.
