Senegal

The Rebublic of Senegal is a 196722 km² state in West Africa on the Atlantic coast, stretching from the foothills of the Sahara in the north, to the beginning of the tropical humid forest in the south. The seat of government is in Dakar, the system of government is a unitary presidential republic. In Senegal live 16.7 people (as of 2020), most of whom belong to the ethnic group "Wolof".

The official national currency is the "West African CFA franc" (XOF). The most commonly spoken languages (official languages) are French, Wolof, Balanta and Hassaniya. The vast majority of the population professes Christianity.

Senegal is home to some beautiful national parks, game reserves and nature reserves such as the Magdalene Islands, Djoudj Bird or the Langue de Barbarie. Senegal has a great diversity of plants and animals. Many of Senegal's larger animals, have suffered from habitat loss and hunting and are now largely confined to the national parks.
