About Marocco

The Kingdom of Marocco is a 446550 km² state in north-west Africa and is separated from the European continent by the Strait of Gibraltar. The seat of government is in Rabat, the system of government is a unitary parliamentary semi-constitutional monarchy. In Marocco live 36.5 people (as of 2010), most of whom belong to the ethnic group "Arab-Berber".

The official national currency is the "Moroccan dirham" (MAD). The most commonly spoken languages (official languages) are Arabic, Berber, Maroccan Arabic and Hassaniya. The vast majority of the population professes Islam.

Marocco is home to several national parks, game reserves and nature reserves such as the Talassemtane, Toubkal or the Souss-Massa. Marocco convinces with special safari possibilities: whether on foot, on a camel or by off-road vehicle through the desert. Another highlight is the exploration of the impressive Atlas Mountains from Marrakech.
