Landscape

The main habitat of the Lewa Wildlife (Laikipia) is the Woodland savannah.

The reserve consists of a fascinating savannah landscape with rolling semi-arid plains lined with acacia trees.
The snow-capped peak of Mount Kenya is clearly visible in the distance in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. A large swamp area with yellow fever trees is found here and several hills provide vantage points over the surrounding plains. The Ngare Ndare Forest Reserve is also part of the conservancy.
