Motswiri Private Safari Lodge

Stayed here in May 2024 for 4 nights with a friend. We were the only people in the lodge so we had it all to ourselves. Elephants arrive continuously at the watering hole as do other animals. Pity we couldn’t have a boma braai but understandably it is a big job for only 2 guests. Would happily return with more friends.

Beautiful lodge. Rooms are spacious with private terrace. The fireplace is nice when it's cold or raining. Adding an indoor shower would make it perfect. The view from the deck is limited in the wet season, but the occasional antelope will still walk by 😉

I can't recommend Motswiri enough, we were treated like VIPs by every member of staff from the moment we landed in Madikwe until we left. Special thank you to Tammy who assisted us with our booking and made the admin so easy and assisted with flights too. We can't wait to go back

We had an amazing stay at Motswari lodge. The staff and service are excellent, and the food is top class, a big thank you to John, Imelda & team! Our lodge room was stunning, and the veranda room overlooking a watering hole was the perfect place to relax between drives, we even saw giraffe & elephant while sitting out with a glass of wine! The safari game drives were an incredible experience, made all the better by our ranger Josh & tracker Difference. And you have the option to stay a night in the Giraffe's Nest, definitely do!! We highly recommend Motswari & will be back!

The lodge is right in the middle of the Madikwe park, away from roads, lights and noise. I couldn't have wished for a better location. The rooms are luxurious, with comfy beds, a beautiful fire place, a decadent bathtub with a view, and an outdoor shower that everyone should use no matter how cold the weather is. The staff are beyond awesome. They are friendly and helpful and always with a smile. They anticipate any request, nothing is a problem. I felt pampered to the next level. And the food! Oh my, the food! Everything is delicious, but the desserts are spectacular! Last but not least, the rangers. I had the pleasure to drive with Elliott, and it was a fantastic experience. He made sure we'd see something exciting on every ride - lions, rhino's, cheetahs, hyenas (even a leopard, I am gutted I did not join that ride and missed this one 🙈) I could go on and on, but here's the short story: I had an unforgettable experience and highly recommend a stay at the Motswiri Lodge to anyone visiting Madikwe.

This is a really great lodge and I've experienced many.The accommodation perfect , the friendly happy staff, always willing to oblige. The meals were great and they catered perfectly for our required dietary preferences. The game drives were top notch and Willy was a really excellent guide. Highly recommend

Motswiri was truly an amazing lodge and a perfect safari experience! The food was incredible every single day that were there and the watering hole on site consistently had elephants and buffalo coming up close! Our ranger Barry was simply the best there is! So funny and knowledgeable about the wildlife and the reserve itself and he truly has a passion for what he does! My wife and I were here on our honeymoon and we were able to see the big 5 during the 5 days the we stayed at this lodge including the elusive leopard! I highly recommend this lodge to anyone wanting to have a great safari experience!

Very cozy and collected lodge The food is of great quality, tasty and healthy. After each meal one is satisfied. We stayed in the 4th bedroom lodge which was very comfortable with outdoor showers. The room was very spacious, cozy, clean, tidy and with unbeatable views. And overall location was fantastic. Barry was very experienced on the safaris and made the trip extra special for us. All the tours we did were wonderful and we managed to be close to lions, elephants, rhinos, as well as having incredible sightings everywhere. We’ve seen 4 of the Big 5 but without the Malaria risk. There is a watering hole right in front of the lodge which gives you the opportunity to see the animals coming for a dip during the day. All of the staff were very attentive and affectionate Thank you very much for making our stay unforgettable.
