Motswiri Private Safari Lodge

Motswiri you were amazing … the service of your team was top notch .. Their Chef Joyce went above and beyond to cater for our family .Elliot our ranger was our Intuitive Treasure Hunter .. he just knew where the best spot was to see game .. gave us an amazing experience. Definitely recommend this lodge in Madikwe ..10 on 10 to their team .

Staff were uber friendly-couldnt do enough to help. Particular mention to our guide Barry who was prepared to ,literally in some cases, go the extra mile. Food was beautifully prepared, presented and served with more than adequate choices available. Accomodation was spotless, comfortable, great location overlooking the watering hole. Not our first safari but would more than happily recommend Motswiri. Enjoy

We stayed here in November 2019 and again in August 2022 - our return trip alone says a lot about the place. The food was better in 2019 - but still good. The game drives were again excellent (different rangers), the villas/rooms are quite special and well thought out. The staff is very attentive. I liked that we had dinner at a table with other international guests ( for some reason it is a popular place for those from Manchester and other parts of England). Though over the last three years we have gone on many game drives in different lodges this remains one of our favorite. Go!

We had previously stayed at Tuningi Lodge (Motswiri's sister lodge). Compared to Tuningi, Motswiri is not quite as nice most notably when it comes to meals. Dinner is had with the other visitors of the lodge, there aren't menus provided with meals and instead your verbally told what will be provided, and it offers fewer options compared to Tuningi. In our reservation and upon arrival when speaking with the chef, I communicated that I'm pescatarian. However there were several meals did not have a vegetarian/pescatarian option, which was frustrating. The game drives were a wonderful and Elliot took us see amazing animals! The watering hole is very active and there were frequently animals there. You could see parts of the watering hole from our porch and the animals would walk by on their ways to and from the hole. We had issues in our room where the electricity would go out if we used the fan at the medium setting, so we had to open doors to cool off the lodge prior to going to bed. Finally, I had my wallet in the bottom of my bag and was in a hurry to settle in and get to the safari on our arrival and forgot to put it in the safe. Unfortunately, some cash was missing upon our departure. Overall, it is a luxury lodge so the the stay was quite pleasant, but if given the option I would return to Tuningi over Motswiri.

The friendliest staff who really make your stay very special! Fabulous game drives and so so helpful with ALL your needs and wants. Highly recommend!

Highly recommend to stay at Motswiri lodge! Everything was excellent - the room, the service, the game drives.... We enjoyed every second of our stay at Motswiri. Not to mention the food - it was extraordinary!
