About River Crossing Lodge

“Feel the pulse of the city from the heart of the bush-veld”
River Crossing Lodge is situated on the airport road (B6) and only 5 minutes from the heart of Windhoek. The lodge sits on top of a koppie on a pristine 6500 hectare reserve, offering unparalleled sunset views. The main lodge building comprises a dining room, a centrally situated bar, a lounge with fireplace, and curio corner. Nestled outside between the lounge and dining area is the lap pool and elevated wooden deck that stretches out under the sun. At center stage, in full view of the main deck stand the Moltkeblick Mountain in contrast to the blanket of flickering city lights of Windhoek.

We stayed one night before flying out of Namibia. Lovely lodge with great service. Stunning rural location in the hills outside Windhoek. We booked a brilliant walking tour with them - a 10km/2.5hr undulating guided hike direct from the lodge via a waterhole. Saw several animals and really enjoyed walking in the countryside - our safaris beforehand had involved a lot of driving and sitting down!

The manager on duty on the night of the 4th of July is extremely dishonest and unethical. When a potentially serious health question was posed, an 'everything is in order' response was given, when proof was asked for, the response was changed to 'ah, actually no, its not in order'. Did not even come to speak with me directly, but sent staff - not good management. Sort out the directions to your lodge, the detour is inconvenient, dinner sucked as well. Edit to Owner's reply: Thanks for your reply. However, the issue is not the cat scratching me (which is why it's not directly mentioned in my review), I have cats too and know this is common and the actual incident is not a big deal. For infromation, the cat scracthed me while I was reaching for the napkin on my lap, during dinner. Please read my initial comment again, it's the manner in which the manager handled the situation. I might be in contact for costs for the post exposure vaccines as your cat has not been vaccined in 2 years.

I still need to go back to this beautiful 😍 place before I conclude on my comment about everything, for now this place have the most affordable meals I have ever eaten at a restaurant in Windhoek and with the best dishes 😋 😍, customer service was the best 👌 I will definitely want to sleep over next time. The pools are so clean, and the place is just well taken care of.

Made a booking to meet and greet. Staff was shrug offish, especially reception. Saima didn't even follow up as to why we left. Also had to enquire on numerous occasions to make initial appointment, not once we're we even asked for contact details. Really sad.

Fantastic place and perfect for a working retreat. I was there with a medium size group and really appreciated the professionalism of the staff, the venue, the quality of the food and the service. Thank you again for having us.
