About Northern Tuli

The Northern Tuli is a Private Game Reserve in Botswana in the provinces of Central District. The park was established on 01.01.1964 and covers an area of 0.72 km². The Northern Tuli offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The reserve is located at the far eastern tip of Botswana at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers, between the borders with Zimbabwe and South Africa. It comprises several private areas, including the Mashatu Game Reserve and Tuli Safari Lodge. In addition to the usual game drives and walking safaris, horseback riding, mountain biking and ballooning are also offered.

The main habitat of the Northern Tuli is the Wetland.

Tuli is situated in a semi-arid region with a variety of landscapes, including riverine forest along the riverbanks, sandstone hills, dry riverbeds (depending on the season), massive rock formations, swampland and mopane forest. A well-known landmark is Solomon's Wall, a 30 m high basalt dam.

The northern Tuli Reserve is characterised by a mild, dry winter (May to September) and a hot, humid summer (October to April). Rainfall is low and unpredictable and is almost exclusively confined to the summer months from October to April. Warm clothing is a must for early morning game drives in winter, when it can get very chilly.
