Landscape

The main habitat of the Kidepo Valley is the Grassland savannah.

The landscape consists of two valleys (Kidepo Valley and Narus Valley), which dominate the predominantly mountainous terrain and is surrounded by a mountainous landscape with Mount Morungole. There are sweeping views of the Narus Valley from many vantage points. Open grasslands are interspersed with acacia trees, desert dates and rocky outcrops. The small Narus River, unlike the Kidepo River, carries water even during the dry season and attracts animals to water.
