The Kakamega Forest is a National Park in Kenya in the provinces of Kakamega. The park was established on 01.01.1985 and covers an area of 0.045 km². The Kakamega Forest offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

The park is located in western Kenya, near the town of Kakamega. It is the easternmost tip of the equatorial rainforest and the only tropical (lowland) rainforest in Kenya. The forest is home to a variety of primates and is one of the hotspots for bird watching in Kenya. A hike with a knowledgeable guide is the best way to explore the forest.

The main habitat of the Kakamega Forest is the Rainforest.

The rainforest is home to a unique diversity of rare plants, mammals, birds, insects, reptiles and amphibians. Despite heavy logging in the 1970s, there are still large areas of ancient hardwoods such as Elgon teak in the forest. Other flora to look out for are the numerous ferns, orchids and flame lilies.
