The Ithala is a Private Game Reserve in South Africa in the provinces of KwaZulu-Natal. The park was established on 01.01.1973 and covers an area of 0.29 km². The Ithala offers the possibility of self-drive safaris.

Ithala Game Reserve is situated in rugged, mountainous thornveld, about 400 km north of Durban. It is one of the youngest game reserves in South Africa.
The main habitat of the Ithala is the Lowveld.
The reserve encompasses a wide variation of terrain, from densely vegetated river valleys and lowveld to sourveld, high grassland plateaus, ridges and rock faces. Ithala Game Reserve is a place of rugged beauty with rock formations 300 million years old.

The climate in Ithala is warm. The rainy season takes place from Beginning October to End April The dry season first extended over the months from Beginning May to End September inclusive. The best time to tour is Beginning May End September.
In winter, afternoon conditions are generally warm and pleasant, but the early morning hours can get very cold. The wind can also blow strongly at this time, adding to the cold. In summer, it remains warm, although this is accompanied by humidity and storms late in the day.
The Ithala is home to 30 mammals such as Elephant, Rhinoceros, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, Cheetah as well as 300 bird species, 15 reptile species, 0 fish species and 18 amphibian species. The Ithala provides Very high conditions for wildlife viewing.
