The landscape is very diverse, most of the park is covered by savannah, in the centre mainly deciduous forest grows and in the west a lot of dry forest. Along the banks of the Okavango River, a veritable forest has settled, with wild date palms and African baobabs growing near the shore. In the east of the park, the typical acacia dry forest has formed on the banks of the Kwando water, thatched islands and swampy riverbeds dominate the landscape.
