Villa Eike

Accommodation and service was excellent. The location is a bit close to a main road with trucks.

If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind - then simply DO NOT book at Villa Eike!!! The house manager Debbie Downer from the second we arrived was unwelcoming and unfriendly. We booked the entire villa for us to have privacy and our own space but Debbie is very intrusive and makes you feel like you are being spied on. She thought she could be sneaky and that we wouldn’t see that she was recording us. It was 3pm in the afternoon and we were told we are too noisy. Surely if we were sharing the villa with other guests we would be more mindful but the whole purpose was to enjoy our own space without disturbances. When we left the villa, Debbie would go into the rooms. No privacy whatsoever. She made a group of 30 year old adults feel like kids. The most unpleasant energy and she makes it known that you are not welcome, as if you are staying for free. She comes pass 8am in the morning and starts hosing down the outside tiles angrily and proceeded to take all our bathers and clothing and chucks it in a corner where she proceeds to water and got our things soaked. She also removed the umbrellas in a hostile way while my friends were still sitting under it for shade and made snark remarks about the fact that she needed to leave. We already made prior arrangements with the owner for a late checkout. Her cat also vomited inside one of the apartments. Which she never acknowledged either. We were also barely ever at the accommodation as we attended an event in Grabouw all weekend and used the villa to just sleep and freshen up but our short time there was not enjoyable. I have only read reviews on this place after our stay and I can see from the reviews Debbie seems to be the main source of low ratings for Villa Eike. Very unfortunate. When posting videos of the house on social media there were lots of referral requests for us to share the name of the accommodation but after our experience we will not recommend to anyone.

Nice place near shops nice rooms

The apartment was nice but the host accused me abruptly of picking her lemons without asking for permission to do so. In addition, we were received very coldly. I reported it to the owner (who was amicable and understanding) he apologised for the experience but that he would have to view the camera footage. I was so happy to hear that there was surveillance snd requested that he revert after having a look. Later the owner advised he could not view the footage but that the host, Debbie, had been reprimanded and that and she would apologise. I am yet to receive an apology from her. Regardless of the place. The experience will always be clouded by this happening which is quite unfortunate. I did not rate this place on airbnb to protect the owner and his business. I would not have written this review had this lady just apologised. I hope she doesn't treat future guests in the same manner.
