Africa ... what a place... and this spot in Africa is the epitome of the continent. Come see, feel and breath the very essence of Africa right here at sharwimbo. I will be back again, thx a mill to Ben for creating a place for me to come and decompress. You have not seen the last of me.

Stunning place. Will go again next year in November and take friends along, mainly for Birding. Very excited! Can't wait.

A great place to visit and enjoy the river breeze while watching wild life. Photo enthusiasts can take pictures at this magnificent river camp. As the evening sky turns into a red glow you sit back, high above the river, enjoying a chilled drink while listening to the deep grunt of hippos – this experience awaits you on the sundowner deck of Sharwimbo River Camp on the Kwando River in eastern Caprivi. Situated approxiamately 30 km south of Kongola. It is the perfect stop-over en route to and from Katima Mulilo, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Apart from 15 ensuite chalets the river camp consists of a self catering kitchen, 2 swimming pools and camping site for tents pitched on lawn is also available. Watch elephant, hippo, buffalo and a variety of antelopes on excursions by boat or by off-road driving. The Madumu National Park can also be visit with 4x4 vehicles or take time to observe the colourful birdlife (more than 400 species).... Priceless!! Sharwimbo River Camp is home away from home..... Sharwimbo...paradise on earth... lodges and camping site still in progress. Will become a "must go to" for folks who want a real African experience of the bush. The elephant use this route to move from Botswana to Angola and so there are times when we think all the elephants are on the Kwando. See the water lilies when they bloom...a carpet over the water. The birdlife too is superb. If you want time out and be away from civilization, this is the place to visit.

After a long trip we arrived at Sharavimbo right on the banks of the Kwando river. The host/owner immediately made us feel welcomed. The campsites are right on the river’s edge. We did the sunset cruise and saw big game close up from the safety of the boat. Afterwards we were astonished by die african sunset usually only seen in movies! Will definitely be back soon. Namibian highlight!
