We were slightly apprehensive after reading some previous reviews, but I'm very glad we chose Royal Boutique Hotel and would definitely recommend. The location is excellent- a 5 minute walk to the seafront and all the bars and restaurants. There was free parking available at the hotel, which was a big bonus. The female receptionist was engaging and friendly and was kind enough to upgrade us to a sea view room. The room itself was fairly compact, but well appointed and comfortable. The towels and bedding aren't luxurious, but everything was clean and we had no complaints. Very well stocked mini-bar/coffee machine/hairdryer/AC etc. Breakfast was outstanding. Potentially the best breakfast in our 3 week holiday around South Africa. The fresh fruit selection was huge, and the pastries were fresh. The hot options were well presented and very tasty- the breakfast wrap in particular was superb. Great service at breakfast. Pool was small but pleasant and very clean. View from the bar area/terrace was gorgeous.

Its a great hotel, good hospitality, smiley faces. Stunning views, its a walking distance to restaurants & quite safe (most people were jogging around 18:00pm). Im sure there are more activities for those who travel for leisure. The room was nice, & sweet just that the bathroom had hair on the floor. The bed cover had a few stains. I would suggest the add morning shoes or slip ons for convenience since the floor has no carpet. Expect nobody to assist with luggage, & the elevator was down.

I wish I had read the previous reviews before booking. The staff and service were exceptional, especially Mcdonald. The rooms, while spacious, were very dated. The shower was tiny, the furniture was old, and the cane was falling apart. There was no safe in the room, and only a small cabinet for clothing. The lift still does not work. It is definitely more of a guest house.

Very nice room that is decorated well, with a spectacular view looking out over the ocean with Lions Head in the distance!

This is probably one of the best places we have ever stayed. Understated with amazing views and breakfast. Lewis, the hotel manager was super helpful, laid back and professional. The hotel is quaint but in the perfect location to everything! Would come back in a heartbeat.

You will not regret staying here. The staff are unbelievably friendly, welcoming and attentive. They really make this hotel extra special and deserve so much credit and praise from the owner. Views incredible. Breakfast delicious. A home from home. Rooms comfy and clean. Bed and pillows very comfy (yes I’m fussy!) Always someone on hand with a smile if you need anything. Location is really good as v. Central and amazing views. I was slightly concerned before I booked about not being on the front but this was unfounded. We swam in the tidal pool every day. Good selection of teas etc in room . I got a bad tummy during my stay ( no idea where from and I’m not for a second implying this hotel was the cause) so do be careful. For us it was between this and bay hotel and we were very happy we chose here as we generally prefer smaller boutique stays to big hotels.

I was confronted by one of the staff members outside the hotel, whom I later learnt her name is Suzan, who assumed that I was not a guest at the hotel and told me the parking in front of the hotel is only reserved for guest, without asking me if I am a guest or not, probably trying to impress the guy who was dropping her off in front of the hotel. Whatever her convictions or attitudes or judgments are towards certain types of people cannot be an acceptable behaviour as a staff of such an establishment. The intervention by Lewis, one of the managers after I sent a complaint email, seemed to justify the behaviour and the treatment by his colleague on the basis that they had random people using the parking outside the hotel, basically treating me bad based on their experience with people I don’t know, which was more appalling to say the least.

I recently were privileged to stay at this property. It is under new management / ownership and the team there is just amazing. Super efficient, helpful and kind. Chef Arthur, who also showed us to our room on check-in, makes the most scrumptious breakfast which I highly recommend. Tino, the manager, and his team are very attentive to the guests needs and they go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Not that that is needed as the location and view from this property does that on its own. Spectacular is the word that comes to mind when I think of the Royal Boutique Hotel. I highly recommend them.
