Riverside Guest Lodge

Good place to stay exploring the area for a few days. Nice couple own the place. Lovely lounge & dining area full of character. Excellent breakfast and good choice if drinks at the honesty bar. A few cafes and restaurants just a few minutes walk away.

Lovely, small lodge with very comfortable room, lots of memorabilia offering a cosy feel. Absolutely superb setting with a spacious platform for breakfast or drinks. Bonus is the 30 or so steps down to the lawn and river where we saw plenty of beautiful birds.

This is an amazing location. Elza and Albert were super nice and have a great eye for details. The breakfast has a wide variety (bigger than restaurants). Thanks for the nice stay! After leaving, we noticed that even our car was cleaned from outside. Best location during our SA roadtrip!

I had a truly amazing stay at the Riverside Guest Lodge during my two-week vacation in South Africa! Albert and Elza are innkeepers that take great pride in the property and in what they do. This shows through 1000% in the experience guests receive when they book a stay. Prior to check-in, you receive information such as directions to the property, road conditions, and any diversion / closure warnings that are a huge help to the international traveller. The property itself is beautiful and well-placed, settled close to the main thoroughfare and up against a quaint little river. I really enjoyed lounging on the deck by the small pool and grabbing a couple of drinks from the well-stocked bar. The dining room is also very charming, even though I did not have time to stay and enjoy breakfast. The guest room itself was also supremely comfortable and clean - a perfect resting place after a long day's drive and adventuring. Little touches like the bottle of water and chocolates, the honesty-system at the bar, and even the welcome 'tour' I got from Albert really made this place feel so welcoming and homely. Finally, the fact that they have solar panels setup means you barely, if ever, feel the effects of loadshedding -- a very very welcome benefit! Check-out was smooth and went off without a hitch. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was staff on hand that would give the cars a wash-down which was sorely needed after a few days of driving on gravel roads. I certainly would recommend this place to anyone visiting or passing through Oudtshoorn.

One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. From the gorgeous bedroom, to the well stocked bar, to the delicious breakfast- what a place. Albert and Elza were such generous hosts and they run a must visit B&B. The perfect stop after a long drive on the way back to Cape Town- highly recommend.

Wooden cabin really pretty with nice view on the river. Host adorable and helpful. There was fireplace in our cabin for wood fire at night and child never get bored. The terrace is wonderfull and really pleasant in the sunset. Well located in Oudtshorn, close to everything we needed.

Wonderful Place! Great welcome with a lot of Tips what to do! Exzellent breakfast. Car has been washed. Next time we want to spend more than one night here!

This place has an unique lodge experience in the center of the Old oudtshoorn center. You turn the busy street and end up in this peaceful and beautiful area. The views are unbelievable, the lodges and rooms have everything you wish for. And the guest house has historical rooms are just amazing. Breakfast was great. The owners are very nice and helpful, they made our stay fantastic.
