Im not sure where to start! The location is incredible as it is in the game reserve and unfenced, but we never felt unsafe as they have thought of everything (regular checks, whistles in the rooms) and to hear elephant and lion roars whilst relaxing in your private hot tub is an experience like no other. The lack of electricity didn't bother us at all, in fact we found it delightful to have a detox. Having said that, you do get patches of phone signal, for me on o2 from the UK, this was typically in higher areas when we stopped for sundowners which meant I was able to send photos of the incredible sightings to friends and family. We did the overnight trail and cave experience which i cannot recommend enough. Riyan and Miguel were knowledgeable and made us feel safe. It was amazing to learn about the smaller things that you wouldn't ever see on a game drive. Getting to the cave is accessible with a degree of challenge. The set up once we got down there was slick with Riaan cooking an epic braai, open fire, wine and talking as we stargazed. The staff at the camp also work tirelessly to make this luxury. Coming back from an evening game drive in the dark and being greeted with an amarula hot chocolate and enthusiasm on what we saw that day (especially by Nick who was so knowledgeable and great to talk to) and to find our hot tub fires roaring and hot water bottles tucked under the duvet are all extra touches we weren't expecting but made the trip feel that much more exclusive. Finally a huge shout out to our main guide Tinash, whom we nicknamed 'Tenacious Tinash' as he was so dedicated to finding us the very best park sightings to the best of his abilities (it's nature afterall). He managed to secure us the best sighting of a female cheetah and her tiny 4 cubs trotting down the path at dusk as she found somewhere to tuck them in for the night. He secured is sightings of pretty much everything else, female lions the only exception from our wish list on arrival which is amazing considering we had some obscure ones on there too such as a Caraval who was actually hunting guinea fowl!! We were very sad to leave everyone on the Friday after 5 days all together so a huge thank you to Riaan, Julie, Miguel, Tinash, Nick, Zavier and the amazing kitchen staff for making this an unbelievable family experience. You are offering something truly special and I hope everyone out there takes the opportunity to visit and experience what you offer. The Tuckwell family (Kate, Pippa, Georgi and Patrick)

This was a highlight of our trip! We saw so many animals and had the amazing experience of being out in the open with nature! The guides were knowledgeable and cared about our comfort while bringing us so close to the animals. The food was authentic and the atmosphere at the campsite was just perfect after the game drives!

We had an unforgettable time at the Safari Camp! Everything was perfect: the incredibly friendly and attentive staff made us feel welcome from the very first moment. The wildlife experience was breathtaking and felt so personal – you truly feel immersed in nature. The food was outstanding, prepared with so much care and attention to detail. We are thrilled with the unforgettable memories we made here and will definitely be coming back. A big thank you to the entire team for this beautiful experience!

If you want to experience an authentic bush safari then this is the place to go. The 3 tents are each in their own bush environment & a Bushbuck was browsing by my tent. It feels like your own personal safari. The rangers know the wildlife behaviour so well that they are able to track & anticipate the animals movements extremely well - excellent for the photographers on board. The game viewing was excellent. Even had a very exciting standoff between a herd of buffalo and the lions. Hospitality is top notch with Riaan and Julie and their staff all focussed on their 6 guests. This is not a 5 star lodge. This is up close & personal staying in the natural bush with the birds, critters and any animals passing through.

A breathtaking experience with the most lovely people. I write this review especially for people who are unsure if they should book here or not - it is life changing and you will always want to come back. The Host is brilliant and so thoughtful in every way, and our Guides Johan, Liam and Longi exceeded our expectations by so so much. Also: even though it got cold during the night we Always slept Well as the tents are equipped with great bedding and We even got hot water bottles, it was comfy cozy! Also If you have the Chance, do Not hesitate to book the Walking safari with a night in the cave!

Words alone don’t do this place justice. Quatermain’s may just be one of the most magical and memorable places we’ve been. From the warm welcome, the passionate and knowledgeable guides who treat you like family (and who also are extremely talented cooks), to the exhilarating game drives and unforgettable experience of dining and sleeping under the stars in Africa. Quatermain’s is an experience that must be had, spectacular in every way and we cannot recommend enough.
