A breathtaking experience with the most lovely people. I write this review especially for people who are unsure if they should book here or not - it is life changing and you will always want to come back. The Host is brilliant and so thoughtful in every way, and our Guides Johan, Liam and Longi exceeded our expectations by so so much. Also: even though it got cold during the night we Always slept Well as the tents are equipped with great bedding and We even got hot water bottles, it was comfy cozy! Also If you have the Chance, do Not hesitate to book the Walking safari with a night in the cave!

Words alone don’t do this place justice. Quatermain’s may just be one of the most magical and memorable places we’ve been. From the warm welcome, the passionate and knowledgeable guides who treat you like family (and who also are extremely talented cooks), to the exhilarating game drives and unforgettable experience of dining and sleeping under the stars in Africa. Quatermain’s is an experience that must be had, spectacular in every way and we cannot recommend enough.

A fantastic place to stay in Amakala Game Reserve. Just 3 tents/6 guests so you really get a personal feel and great brai food.

Blown away by the experience we journeyed upon. Riaan and his team is exploding with knowledge on every single aspect of this beautiful region and goes the extra mile to make your stay the homiest Africa expedition you will probably encounter in your lifetime. 100 stars if I could

From the moment we arrived at Quartermaine's Camp, we were treated like royalty by Riaan, Julie, our guides and all staff. The game drives were informative and we enjoyed all. The persistence of my guide, who on Sunday morning took lonesome me on a game drive, resulted in myself and him being honoured to view a superb specimen of wild leopard. Goosebumps!! The meals were excellent, the atmosphere in the Boma and camp peaceful and authentic, no plastic tourist trap this. Just serene, Africa at its best. Can't wait to visit again.

Great experience for those that can’t visit the backcountry. A well orchestrated Safari experience our trip was treated to all they have to offer in terms of sightings with the exception of hippos and the male lion. The food takes a page out of history with traditional fire roasted meats, a Kudu stew and bread made right over the fire. Our local guide did an exceptional job of creating just the right respect for the land and animals with a light side now and then to break the time between sightings. The G&Ts for “The Sundowner” stop where a favourite and the traditional tented accommodation was authentic and first class at the same time.
