Old Mill Lodge, Working Ostrich Farm & Restaurant

So I booked in bit of a rush. I knew where the rooms were that I booked as I have stayed many times before. From past experience I know some rooms do not have BBQ facilities. So I made sure to check that detail and booked. When we got there the room was not self catering. My mistake. I assumed when the booking says "BBQ facilities" it would be self catering. I believe it I misleading and so I accept I am 70% wrong but definitely not 100%. We queried this with George. He was very unhelpful and made it difficult to get some plates and knives and forks etc. They should remove the description of BBQ facilities it is misleading. Many other issues but this was the main one.

Lovely little spot with limited fishing, boating and swimming. Our room, cabin overlooking the dam, was okay. The beverage supply in the room was poor to say the least. The restaurant was too pricey to eat at for what was offered. However, the only reason that we will not return is the fact that the office staff are less than accommodating and make one feel like an inconvenience rather than an actual guest.

Stunning cabin with view overlooking the dam. Location great near the Cango Caves. Delicious meals in restaurant. Very well kept and neat garden. Was a treat staying there!.

I stayed here for a conference. The rooms and location were nice. But you can see it's aimed at international tourists paying with their foreign currency. The price is not for "normal" South Africans. The staff are all very friendly. In my tent, I only had an outdoor shower, and in May, it's too cold to shower outside. I then had to use the bath inside. The wifi is really poor and there is no signal. It's great if you want to go off the grid, but it's not great if you have assignments due. The hike up into the mountains is worth doing. The views are amazing. The breakfast were nice, your standard dishes you expect to be at a breakfast buffet. Overall, it's not a place for South Africans, but it could be nice if you are an international guest coming for the South African glaming experience.

I stayed 2 nights in a beautiful luxurious 'glamping' tent at this resort. My view sitting outside the tent were a bunch of young ostriches drinking water from the stream, playing and relaxing. Really great! I also really enjoyed the dinners - ostrich burger! - and breakfast with very helpfull nice staff. Also able to have my laundry done.

We enjoyed our staying there very much. The hospitality was warm and please be kind to Jessie the dog that came to check on every person that booked in. We will highly recommend your place to all our family and friends that visits Oudtshoorn. Thank you for your kindness. Johan and Theresa Roux

Lovely setting with beautifully, well kept gardens. Food was tasty. Staff very friendly.

Unwind and recharge. The tranquility at Old Mill was amazing. A lot to do on the premises that doesn't require driving back into town. Kids loved the pool, rooms tidy and comfortable. Great food from the restaurant and good service all around.
