This happened on 17th of July 2026. While staying at this campsite for one night, we were attacked by two robbers in the middle of the night. There were no other campers or staff around, so no one could hear us calling for help. We were threatened with a handgun and stripped of all our valuables, including $2,600 in cash, 13 credit cards, a wedding ring, three iPhones, an iPad, a laptop, a watch, two power banks, a backpack, clothing, and our rental car keys. We had no choice but to hand over all the PINs for our phones and cards to them. Finally, we were bound hand and foot and locked inside our tent with two padlocks outside. After the robbers left, we tore through the tent to escape and walked to the reception area to call for help, but no one came out. It was the most terrifying night of our lives. Since we had no phones, cash, credit cards, or rental car keys—leaving us unable to travel or communicate—the manager helped us contact the police, the rental car company and our family. He also allowed us to stay at the lodge for two nights. We believe the robbery occurred due to security issues at the campsite, but the manager became agitated and showed us the form we had signed at check-in, insisting, "We bear absolutely no responsibility; the policy states we are not liable for valuables." After our two-night stay, we left there with the help of the rental car company, but we asked if they could provide some financial assistance for gas and food. The manager refused, stating, "We aren't responsible, and we won't pay a single cent." We didn't receive a dollar, not even a refund for the campsite fees. It was deeply disappointing. While the manager adamantly denied liability, we believe they are responsible due to inadequate security measures. We urged the manager to strengthen security without fail. We came camping to enjoy nature, but instead, we paid to be robbed and to spend a night in terror. It is truly unbelievable. If you are considering camping here, I strongly recommend checking beforehand to ensure that proper security measures are in place. According to the single camera installed at the gate, the robbers moved in a way that showed they were aware of the camera's location; they targeted our campsite after 10:00 PM, when the reception area was left unattended. They even took the two padlocks securing our tent from the campsite itself. It seemed as though they were familiar with the layout and inner workings of the place—leading me to suspect that they knew we were the only two people there when they committed the crime. I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend camping here. I decided to post this review because I want the owner to significantly improve security measures and ensure that such an incident never happens again. I am attaching the police report as evidence.

The room and the location are absolutely magnificent. The room is very clean and you sleep very well. The pool and bar overlook an open watering hole where you can clearly see the animals. However, there is an excursion with dinner in the evening, the "Milkyway Dinner," which costs 1100 Namibian dollars and is a bit expensive for what it is (a glass of champagne upon arrival, but it's a shame there wasn't a glass of wine with the meal considering the price). But the spot is very pretty.

Amazing breakfast and friendly staff. Hidden jem of a lodge/campsite. Everything is so well kept and modern. Nice selection of drinks at the bar. We even got WiFi close to the camp, a separate swimming pool, and constant warm water at the campsite. Overall a great, quiet and very safe place to stay.

This was the nicest place we stayed during our 16 days in Namibia. To be candid, we did not stay at any other "luxury" lodges to compare with as we had a 4x4 with roof top tents. The views are stunning, staff are friendly and professional. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and comfortable. We have nothing bad to say about this place (except the 20 minute drive from the main road maybe 😉). The star of the show is their in-house chef (wish we got her name as she deserves the recognition). Both of the 3-course dinners we had were beyond exceptional. It would be equivalent to a 5 star dining experience back in our country. The spinach soup was to die for and I'm not a fan of spinach. Consider me converted! The game meat (usually kudu) was 10/10. The portions are generous and the deserts were the perfect way to end the meals. They also offer game drives, but we opted to skip as we were on route to etosha for 3 days. They have resident rhinos that sometimes will come within 100ft of the lodge as they owners leave feed out nightly for them. We were lucky to see two of them our first night and they stayed for over an hour. The watering hole attracts many other wildlife and is viewable from half the property. Only complaints are Wifi is NOT in the rooms even though it's advertised as such. The wifi in the main building is terrible as best. No AC in the rooms so it does get hot (even with windows open). The laundry service is NOT complimentary (it's quite expensive actually) so do not go by the website marketing once again here. That said, I would still highly recommend this place if you are visiting Damarland area and recommend the owners make a few small changes to their marketing material on the website to avoid future complaints.

this is a good location. i explicitly want to call out the lady at the reception (sama) and the incredible food. the cook is really the best one i have seen in namibia so far. this lady in the kitchen made real artwork.

What can I say about this lodge? The rooms are decent, but there's no air conditioning to protect against the extreme heat and chilly nights. The lounge is pleasant, as are the staff, although they lied to me about the free meals. When I arrived, I asked if meals were included in their package, but as I was leaving, they demanded payment. Not only did they claim meals were included, but at every meal, they offered a menu without any mention of the price. It's customary in civilized countries to display prices when they aren't included, and then the restaurant asks for the guest's signature so that the amount is allocated to each room. In short, a scam! They also offer one-hour "games" or "safaris," when it's usually four hours at other lodges. They also claim to have Wi-Fi in the lounge and in the rooms ! But there's no way to connect! Another lie The owner was particularly unpleasant, unlike the employees So I don't recommend this lodge

Family built, owned and operated and they live onsite. Beautiful lodge, deluxe accommodations, unbelievable views and property, exceptional meals both dinner and breakfast. I had a delicious piece of Kudu for dinner! Rooms are in individual free standing buildings. Extremely clean and nice dining room, sitting area and balcony. Nicely decorated! Nothing but good things to say. I did an afternoon game drive which was a great way to see the property!
