Warm hospitality and unforgettable experiences – highly recommended! We had a fantastic stay at Maputaland Guesthouse in St. Lucia and can highly recommend both the guesthouse and Jörg, the host, as a guide. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Jörg is an incredibly warm and knowledgeable host who made our holiday truly special. The guesthouse is ideally located – everything in St. Lucia is within walking distance. You could also walk to the beautiful beaches. The rooms are tastefully furnished, the beds extremely comfortable, and the quiet surroundings made for restful nights. A real highlight was the delicious breakfast served every morning with care and attention to detail. St. Lucia itself is a unique destination – in the evenings, hippos roam the streets, grazing peacefully right in the village! Day trips to nearby national parks offered fantastic wildlife sightings and breathtaking landscapes. Before checking in at Maputaland Guesthouse, we spent 10 days on safari with Jörg, who organized everything for us. His expertise and deep knowledge of South African wildlife and nature enriched every moment of our trip. From game drives to hidden gems off the beaten path – it was an unforgettable adventure. He also gladly helps guests in St. Lucia plan and book excursions, offering insider tips you wouldn’t find in any guidebook. In short: Whether you're looking for a great base in St. Lucia and/or an exceptional safari guide – Jörg and Maputaland Guesthouse are an excellent choice. We would come back in a heartbeat!

If you are looking for somewhere quiet, relaxing and friendly with helpful hosts that provide a great breakfast, go out of their way to help and give excellent advice on places to go and things to do along with a swimming pool to cool you down on a hot day then this is the place to stay!

Great B&B, Jorg and his team are fantastic. Breakfast is delicious and rooms comfortable. Quiet location and close to everything.

This is a brilliant guesthouse, clean comfortable rooms, swimming pool, delicious breakfast, great dog keeping the monkeys at bay, easy central location and super knowledgeable and helpful hosts. My only regret is not staying a third night!

Beautiful place to sleep, a lot of advice and information from your hosts. They are very helpful if you need anything from preparing a meal in the evening or towels and other beach related items when spending a day in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Also, fun to go at night by car to watch the hippo's.

Very friendly and tranquil, owner run guest house in St. Lucia. Very good breakfast with toast, cheese, wurst, eggs, fruits, yoghurt and fresh coffee. Jörg, the owner, gives you a lot of helpful reccomendations what to do in St. Lucia and where to eat out.

Great host, gave a good intro of the town and to possible sightseeings activities. Lovely accommodation
