Lengau Lodge

We have been on South African safaris before but our stay at Lengau Lodge was the absolute best! The lodge is perfectly situated, planned with attention to detail and great taste. It is quite small with only 4 cottages, so we had it all to ourselves. Our hosts - Ilse and Louke - are the nicest people you will ever meet: easygoing, friendly and very helpfull. The early morning and evening game drives with Louk were exciting with many unforgetable animal sightings (elephants and lions - including babies - were especially numerous). Louk is a treasure trove of information, and has a very keen eye. The food was exquisite!!! The entire lodge is on solar power, so we were not bothered by power outages we experianced in other parts of the country. If you choose to stay at Lengau Lodge you are in for a treat and we envy you (though we plan to be among the many return guests ourselves)! Klara and Peter

Being back, after four weeks in South Africa, it's time to share our experiences. The four days at Lengau Lodge were simply beautiful! Ilse and Loek take care of their guests with a lot of passion. Everything is considered, and everything is perfectly organized. During our balloon ride and the safari in Kruger Park, we didn't have to worry about a thing. The game drives with Loek were truly spectacular; looking at the photos still leaves me speechless. His expertise and knowledge, even about the smallest animals, is truly remarkable. I highly recommend having a Gin Tonic at sunset in the African bush is truly magical and unforgettable. Ilse pampered us with culinary delights at the highest level. (Thanks again for the fantastic birthday dinner). The atmosphere and the shared meals with the other guests were simply lovely and it was enjoyable to reflect on the day's shared experiences. Our Rondavel was spotless, and thanks to the window mosquito screens, no creepy crawlies could get inside (one of my biggest concerns). We will never forget our stay and highly recommend Lengau Lodge to everyone.

We absolutely loved our stay at Lengau Lodge, we stayed for 3 nights and wished we could’ve stayed longer. It was an unforgettable experience, from Loek and Ilse’s welcoming hospitality and delicious food to the brilliant animal spotting opportunities. The passion Loek and Ilse have for nature, wildlife and providing superior service is clear and you’ll definitely not regret booking a stay at Lengau Lodge. We’ll hoping to return in the future.

What an amazing place Ilse and Loek have created! We had a thoroughly enjoyable 3-night stay at Lengau Lodge at the end of September. You can notice great deal of thought and attention has gone into basically everything in the lodge, providing a feeling of comfort and luxury without being overdone. The rooms are clean, nice and spacious and well equipped (bonus points for the outdoor shower!). Ilse serves delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch and diner and you can always find your taste of accompanying wine from the elaborate list. The game drives were much fun and very interesting, for a large part due to Loek's enthusiasm and knowledge of the area and the animals living there. Solar powers the lodge even at night or on cloudy days due to the battery storage (added bonus: no load shedding). Simply 10/10 if you are looking for a comfortable stay in the bush where (Krugers) animals roam freely.

Our stay at lengau lodge was one of the best experiences we have ever had! Ilse and Loek are the best hosts you can imagine!!! The accommodations and the lodge are furnished with an eye for detail, the excellent food is lovingly prepared by Ilse and served great and the safaris with Loek are very educational. Loek likes to share his extensive knowledge of nature and culture and together we have discovered many animals. Already the offroad drive in the jeep is an experience in itself and no comparison to the safari trucks in the Kruger Park. Individual diet wishes are catered for, vegetarian or vegan diets are no problem. Unique is that all guests will sit together at one table during the meal, whereby one quickly makes contacts. Overall, there is a very familiar atmosphere. We heartily recommend the lengau lodge!

What can I say. Amazing start for our South African adventure. 5 star plus service, amazing service, anniversary amazing, safari drives out of this world and hosts were amazing, could not do enough. And as for the dog you just have to go to meet him. 2 of the most important people in I have met I years. We will be coming back.

We had a fantastic experience with Louk and Ilse in the Lengau Lodge. Attention has been paid to all details, the rooms are attractive, clean and spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. There is room for personal attention and wishes. During our stay, it was our daughter's birthday, Ilse and Louk arranged a cake, decoration and even a present to make this day memorable! The food is delicious and original. The safari's with Louk cannot be compared to any other safari's we have done. Here too, the personal approach and Louk's passion and enthusiasm are unique! We would definitely recommend a stay at the Lengau Lodge to everyone!
