Jardin D'ebene Guesthouse

We had a fabulous week staying at this gem of a small guesthouse. Perfect location for sightseeing and City centre access whilst offering safe walking to a diverse range of quality restaurants. Tasteful quality interiors with African nuance, high standards of cleanliness with a very comfortable bed and well appointed shower room. Breakfast menu offer is varied and everything delicious, well presented and of a high standard. All of this well managed by the most courteous and knowledgeable owner Roland supported by staff who were exceptionally polite, invested and capable. It was a privilege to meet this team who offered excellent support, and also were well able to advise re our itinerary without intrusion but always helpful. We highly recommend this place which so enhanced our holiday experience, thank you.

Lovely guest house with attentive staff who make you feel welcome and at home. Unfortunately, they only had margarine for toast at breakfast, so I bought butter, which we used each morning. Otherwise, the breakfasts were good and tasty. The beds are super comfy, and the bathroom was well equipped with hotel amenities and lots of hot water. The neighbourhood is quiet at night. I would highly recommend this establishment.

First stay in Cape Town and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The location is perfect for hiking but also city experiences. The rooms and hotel itself were gorgeous. Small and intimate and very well managed. The breakfast was delicious and overall the stay was comfortable and convenient. Would highly recommend if you want a quiet and personal stay experience!

From the moment we arrived at Jardin D’Ebene Guest House in Cape Town, we felt warmly welcomed by Christopher, who took the time to highlight the best walking destinations nearby on a map. This thoughtful introduction set a positive tone for our stay. The guest house features five bedrooms we stayed in the Lion Room 🦁, and while it can get a bit noisy at times, it never felt overwhelming. Our room was impressively clean and equipped with both an air conditioning unit and a ceiling fan, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere. One unique aspect of the washroom was the absence of a door, replaced by a traditional curtain. This setup may not be for everyone, but it did contribute to an open feel in the room. The shower was equipped with a rainfall showerhead alongside a handheld option. Although the water pressure was on the lower side, it was still adequate for a refreshing shower. The highlight of our mornings was the complimentary breakfast, which offered a delightful variety of options. From rich lattes and fresh fruit platters to made-to-order omelets, pancakes, and croissants, everything was of excellent quality and truly enjoyable. Additionally, the guest house provided a mini fridge stocked with sodas, sparkling and still water, as well as other reasonably priced beverages, which was a nice touch for those in need of a refreshment. Safety is always a concern when traveling, and we appreciated that a security guard was present at the entrance each evening, providing an added sense of reassurance. Overall, our stay at Jardin D’Ebene Guest House was a pleasant experience, combining comfort, quality service, and a great location. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Cape Town!

Fantastic house, beautifully decorated in a nice aerea. Very good breakfast and Roland gave us great suggestions on the places to visit. I will certainly go back.

Everything was perfect and I wouldn’t choose to stay anywhere else in Cape Town. Roland was a lovely host and extremely helpful in giving local tips, places to visit and restaurant recommendations. The guest house was so peaceful with very comfortable room and relaxing areas to sit. Delicious breakfast too with so many options to choose from. Great location and felt very safe. Couldn’t fault it and would love to return one day!

We had an amazing time at Jardin D’Ebene. The room was very clean, the guesthouse is beautiful, breakfast very delicious and the hosts are very friendly and supportive in providing tips for restaurants or activities in Cape Town. Additionally, the location is prefect: just a few minutes drive from Lions head or Table Mountain and in walking distance from Kloof street and Cape Town city centre. Highly recommended!

Small hotel with very nice clean rooms and excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff which provides many suggestions for activities, restaurants etc. Can definitely recommend this place!
