Absolutely incredible. Tastefully designed, amazing food, lovely animals and ancient forest. Loved the warmth with which it's run. Really great price point. Highly recommend for people in KZN not wanting to drive far for a game farm experience. We unwound so quickly in the tranquilty they've cultivated.

WOW! Gwahumbe, what can I say... 5 stars is definitely not enough. I salutè you...and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the best weekend we have ever had! The drives, the walks, the waterfalls, the spa, the food, the staff... out of this world! We loved every minute of our stay ❤️ special mention to Simon, our ranger who was absolutely amazing, so knowledgeable and caring, his genuine love for the Bush is obvious & resonates so deeply with me. As for the chef, the best food we have had, ever! Thank you thank you!

I have really enjoyed my day at Gwahumbe for my birthday. The staff is very friendly, the food is amazing and the game drive was so informative. I am definitely coming back soon with my partner.

Located 1.5 hours from Pietermaritzburg is a safari delight! Easily reachable in a lower clearance car, Gwahumbe was a great day trip ✨ perfect for a quick romantic getaway or a girls trip. Included in our mini safari package was a 2HR game drive - which was the highlight! We spotted so many African animals and really embraced the off roading - going through deep streams and down the mountain in search of Giraffes 🦒 🤭 We stoped for drinks and snacks before making our way back to our 45 minute fully body massage! The spa area is stunning and overlooks the valley! 10/10 really enjoyed it so much we wished we had booked facials.. To finish it all off, we had 2 course lunch with a complimentary drink - wine of course. This is a must do experience and is really affordable! Will definitely be back for an overnight stay!

Best trip after some time. I don't regret coming here with my friends. We had the best time, the ladies at the reception are friendly welcoming and professional also beautiful. The guys at the game drive, friendly as well, Maxwell very informative and understands all the animals and plants around there. He was explaining to us even about trees. Even though it was very cold, the game drive was nice and he provides us with blankets. The massage was exceptional, I really enjoyed it, even though our 2 hours treatment was not really 2 hours it finished before time. The ladies at the restaurant were friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the portions were bigger than what I expected. They had a variety of hot and cold drinks. I would go back again, their packages are worth it.

A Hidden Gem with Fabulous Staff – A Memorable Birthday Stay We stayed at Gwavumbe for just one night to celebrate my husband's birthday, and it was absolutely perfect – a true hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome and special. Their warmth and attention to detail really stood out, going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The atmosphere was peaceful and beautifully maintained, with little touches that made all the difference. You can tell the team genuinely cares about their guests’ experience. Even though it was just a short stay, it created a lasting memory for both of us. If you're looking for a special place with fabulous service, Gwavumbe is a must. We’ll definitely be back!

I recently had the most amazing stay at Gwahumbe in the newly refurbished “Eagles Nest”. It was stunning! I loved my private balcony bath - what a pleasure to soak serenaded by a night jar. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and I slept so well enfolded in soft cotton bedding. I also enjoyed a wonderful relaxing massage with a therapist who adjusted the pressure (more gentle!) to suit my request! All the staff are so friendly - I was greeted by everyone which is a big plus in my book. Animals, views, cocktails, delicious food - say no more! I would 100% recommend taking a break at Gwahumbe!

So stunning and great pricing, we did the drive and lunch. The guide was amazing and the food was lovely. Because it was a self service, a few of us didn’t get dessert was was disappointing. Otherwise the mains were plentiful and lovely. The drive was lovely, it just was a bit big for us so we were put together with a loud group which made hearing the guide difficult even though we were the second row behind him. Maybe I would recommend a mic as controlling people maybe hard but we still wanted the full experience. Overall it was lovely and I would return.
