I was only here to do a game drive but wow was it good. Saw lots of animals, caught all the highlights including close up lion encounter in the videos I uploaded. Mark the tour guide was amazing, fun and knowledgeable. The service was also exceptional and front desk was very nice.

We loved this family-run lodge from the very first minute. The rooms are luxurious, the service staff are very attentive and deserve our gratitude. The food was great! The game drives were beautiful, but you have to be aware that this lodge/reserve is only 5 years young and therefore does not yet have all the big animals. Buffalo and elephants are still missing, hippos are already on their way. The lions are still separate from the rest of the reserve, but they are only a few months away from being added to the rest of the reserve. And still the encounters with all the other animals like the giraffes, all kinds of bocks, tortoises, lions were so magical that I can with no doubt recommend this lodge.

I'm genuinely touched by the enchanting experience at the safari camp in the Garden Route. Every detail was meticulously crafted, the guides displayed an exceptional level of knowledge and competence. The warmth exuded by the management and staff made the stay truly special. Despite its brevity, the encounter with wildlife added a magical touch to the journey. This short but sweet stay was nothing less than impeccable. Wholeheartedly, I would recommend it to anyone seeking an unforgettable experience. 😊

Wow, this is experience was unbelievable! We booked last minute and could not be happier that our other plans fell through. You can feel the genuine hospitality, attention to details and how the owners treat the staff like family through the whole experience. The meals, in my opinion, were some of the best I had in South Africa and though they don’t have a huge property the game drive was so fun because the guides took time to tell us details a bigger place would have passed over. They also serve you tea and coffee on the drives. The whole experience was 11/10 and yes, it’s not cheap, but yes, it’s worth it. I did a cheaper one somewhere else and definitely did not have nearly the same experience.

This place deserves 10* at least! Once in a lifetime experience and a must visit. Most definitely the highlight of our trip to SA! None of us - though we all travelled quite a bit - has ever experienced such exceptional hospitality. Accommodation food and wildlife experience were outstanding. The premises are immaculately maintained and spotlessly clean. The - mostly local - food was delicious and the drinks were always cold. The entire team make it their quest to leave none of their guests wishes unfulfilled. Even though we experienced quite some rain they managed to give us such marvelous safari experiences, that in the end we even concluded the rain might have made the entire stay even more special. There’s nothing quite as beautiful as a giraffe dancing in the rain! What REALLY sets this place apart though, is the warm-heartedness, kindness and intelligence of our hosts. Staying here felt like visiting friends instead of staying in a hotel. Deep conversations and whole-hearted laughs by the campfire, learning about the local flora and fauna while being on safari and maneuvering the mudfloods (due to the aforementioned rain) was as unique as it gets. Leaving this place felt like leaving a second home and all of us shed a little (or not so little) tear. To Stephan and Unelle (our hosts): You guys are one of the loveliest couples we’ve ever met and such great persons, that words can barely describe it. Meeting you felt like meeting old friends while making new friends at the same time. All the best in the world for you. Definitely not the last time we visited! See you very soon :) Kindest regards Barbara, Fritz and Max

This was our first safari and it did not disappoint! Everything from the hospitality, the food, the accommodation, the guides, the drives, was just perfect. We felt welcomed and looked after by the lovely staff from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. This was the highlight of our South Africa trip. Also special thanks to Josh, our guide, who was absolutely fantastic and made our stay even more special. We hope to be back one day!

Our visit to Garden Route Safari Camp was a deeply touching journey, nestled in the heart of South Africa's magnificent wilderness. Encircled by the splendor of creation, the camp offered us an intimate and memorable encounter with wildlife. The sight of lions, zebras, giraffes, impalas (and so much more), each unique in its own right, was a humbling experience. The camp's mindful attention to every detail resonated deeply with us, blending luxury with the authentic spirit of a safari. Our accommodations were not just comfortable but thoughtfully crafted, providing a truly peaceful sanctuary. The dining experience was a celebration of the earth's gifts, with each meal thoughtfully prepared and shared. Stefan, our guide, was an integral part of our experience (as well as his loving family Unelle, Nanette and Abram). Stefan’s passion and expertise, particularly in connecting with our young child, made the beauty of the landscape even more profound. The staff's genuine care and hospitality enveloped us in a sense of community and warmth, reflecting a spirit of love and service. Leaving the camp was bittersweet, marked by the deep connections we had forged with both the land and its caretakers. Garden Route Safari Camp is more than just a destination; it's a sanctuary that speaks to the heart. Its fusion of natural wonder and heartfelt hospitality offers a glimpse into a world of serenity and connection. It's a place that inspires reflection and gratitude, a haven for those yearning for a meaningful bond with nature and a sense of peace. We departed with treasured memories and a desire to return to this blessed retreat.

Amazing place to be, warm welcome, the kindest hosts I have ever met and a amazing horseback safari. Special thanks to both of my guides who made this a once- in-a-lifetime experience with their knowledge, jokes and close contact to Zebras, Giraffes, Gnus etc . The Tour is for experienced riders only what's good for the horses and allows a fester pace.
