Cango Retreat Ou Tol

Stayed for 3 nights in Believe cottage. Pretty tiny house, but no inside seating thus not suitable for winter visits. Hot tub has no cover and all heat gets lost with sub zero night temperatures. Extremely close to big road leading to Cango caves with noisy traffic the entire day(and night). Too many free roaming dogs that you need to keep out of your cottage. Braai tong and blitz got stolen during the day when we were out. Safety a concern as property is not fenced off properly. Kitchen was not clean. Top shelve was very dusty and found a stale bun (not ours) behind microwave. Also in dire need of new bed linen.

We had an awesome stay. The fireplace kept the cold out. Very peaceful stay. Highly recommended.

It was 37° and yet this little slice of heaven stayed cool and comfortable because of its location adjacent to the river only 10 km to Cango caves in 20 km to town. It was also ideally located. The owners and staff are fantastic and very accommodating. The animals on the premises were also superbly, friendly and fun to play with highly recommend and will visit again.

An Unforgettable Family Getaway at Cango Retreat Ou Tol! Our recent visit to Cango Retreat was nothing short of magical! The 6hour drive was well worth it, as we arrived at a breathtakingly beautiful, scenic, and lush paradise. The kids absolutely loved it, and we all got to appreciate the beauty of nature in its purest form. We enjoyed a fantastic 2km hike, had fun braaiing, canoed on the water, and let the kids explore to their heart's content. They swam, jumped on the trampoline, and we shared priceless family moments, something we all need from time to time to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. We initially planned for a 2night stay, but it simply wasn’t enough! The retreat is incredibly safe and peaceful, allowing us to truly unwind. We even had some unexpected yet delightful visitors, a few friendly dogs (one of which joined us on our hike!) and the most adorable meerkat, which we could even pet. This was, without a doubt, our best family holiday yet. None of us wanted to leave! A huge thank you to Inge and Mariska, We cannot thank you enough! Your hospitality was amazing! You answered all our questions in no time and made us feel so welcome. The accommodation was spotless, well equipped, and truly felt like a home away from home. We will definitely be back very soon!

Quiet, peaceful, clean, and friendly. What more could anybody ask for?

A very family friendly place to stay. It has a wonderful little river and kayaks. The rooms were comfortable and clean with plenty of space for a big family. Safe parking, and a great view of the surrounding hillsides. Beautiful scenery. Would definitely recommend

We visited cango retreat-ou toll in December 2024 and we had such a great time ,our house was very nice,modern/spacious and beds were very comfortable and cozy ,the Host Inge was awesome but most of all enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and scenery so beautiful 😍❤️ we are definitely booking for 2025 again

Amazing family orientated place, definitely a must when you have kids.
