Smallish estate but wonderful experience from great staff to wonderful rooms and we saw plenty of wildlife. Small amount of finishing work on menu needed, some times great others not so. Dry cheese platter and over cooked mussels but wonderful line fish.

We went on the most awesome 3 hour garde drive in the morning. The guide was knowledgeable and kept everyone interested. Saw a lot of animal, lion, cheetahs, wildebeest, etc, etc. Then had lunch in the restaurant - food was awesome and reasonably priced. Just an awesome way to spend my birthday - thanks guys.

We had high expectations given the hotel’s rating and its 4-star status, but overall, our experience was just average. The welcoming felt rather cold, with nothing particularly remarkable, and we had to request a tour of the property instead of it being offered upfront. The suites were nice with beautiful views, but I also found a large spider in mine, and the staff didn’t handle the situation well. The spa services have been compromised since November 2023 due to fire damage, which was unfortunate, as the spa would have enhanced the stay, especially after a day of activities. The sport facilities were below average, and when we asked about the tennis court, we were told there wasn’t one, even though it was listed in the activities PDF we received. The safari ride was fine, with our guide’s humor adding to the experience, but the overall ride wasn’t particularly remarkable. One ride seemed enough given the variety of animals in the reserve, and it’s worth noting that this is a Big 4 reserve, not Big 5, as there was no leopard during our visit. On a positive note, the food exceeded expectations, with both lunch and dinner being wonderful. Additionally, the guided bush trails were enjoyable, especially with our guide, who made the experience passionate and engaging through his explanations.

It was a great experience! all the staff is friendly, kind and professional. we booked the full board package for two nights and it's WORTH IT the price is good compared to the room, meals and the activities wich is 3 drive game and horse riding safari. Thanks for john our guide for the drive game and the whole staff who make it even better place. For sure it's not last time to visit, regards.

We had such an amazing stay over at Botlierskop! We even added another day to our 3 day stay since we loved it so much! The reserve has everything you need regarding accommodation and facilities. Next to that was the game drive amazing! We saw all kinds of animals and every game drive was different, which made the experience even more impressive. Would love to come back! For the Western Cape one of the best game reserves, also regarding my local SA friends (I am not from SA).

This place is a dream. I have been here one hour and am mesmerized. We saw elephants and rhinos right outside as we ate an amazing lunch. There are beautiful pools with the same view of the animals. The room is immaculate and also has a jaw dropping view.

This was the most amazing place I have experienced. The rooms at the Village Lodge were luxurious. The entire staff catered to our every need and were always helpful and courteous. Our game drive guide,Richard, exceeded all expectations. He made sure we had the best views and wildlife observations possible. We were lucky enough to witness 3 Cheetahs hunt and bring down young Wildebeest. I suggest the 2 hour horseback riding and massage options. The food is plentiful ,delicious and vegetarian options are available. Getting to the Village Lodge can be tricky so be sure to have exact directions from where you're starting the drive to the Village Lodge. I felt pampered and educated all at the same time. I learned so much about wildlife and South African culture. I hope to return again !

This was the most amazing Game Reserve my husband and I have experienced. The rooms were luxurious, spacious and had a super beautiful view! We were able to watch elephants fight and eat from our porch. We had a sneaky monkey ran into our room, stole our biscuits and eat it on our porch. The entire staff were always helpful and friendly. The game drive in the morning exceeded all expectations. We had the horseback riding and it was a real treat to see the game reserve from this perspective too. The food is plentiful and delicious. We liked the different options on the menu. Everything was amazing and we enjoyed our time there. PS not criticism just a recommendation: it would be nice if the spa can be open until early evening as people are usually out until late afternoon. A massage after the day’s outing would be really great :)
