Boorgat

Was so impressed with the look and feel of the restaurant. However all 4 ladies tried to avoid my family of 4. We reached out to them in a group and individually to understand where we can sit and for menus. We left to a competitor where we were treated with respect from when we entered until we left and enjoyed our meal. Such a pity that staff in such a small town don’t go out of their way to serve for repeat clients or even first clients. Sad when owners have done so much for a real cool venue and staff don’t follow through on their passion.

If you're in Sutherland, don't miss Boorgat Bar—a hidden gem with a rugged, Mad Max vibe. Highly recommend! The ice-cold tequila and refreshing draughts were perfect, especially while watching the rugby. The friendly locals make you feel at home, and the bar is impressively clean. Boorgat Bar isn’t just a drink stop; it's an experience.

Great place to stay while in Sutherland. Food is awesome and atmosphere best in town

We had a lovely meal. Great steaks, great crispy chips and lovely salad. Gorgeous Malava pudding. Well trained very friendly staff. Bar is excellent to have a drink first

A true gem what a nice bar and restaurant. Not a lot on menu but good food. Ambience is great friendly helpful staff. Stop and have something you will be glad you did.

First visit. As I walked in, a male waiter complained in front of everyone, swearing how tired he was, and complaining about the load work, etc. This is extremely unprofessional. Made us feel very unwelcome. Not nice. People sitting inside also noticed this. They must have felt unwelcome, too. He was throwing the serving trays around.....😕🤔☹️🥴

Snowing outside. No fire lit inside, door left open. Cold and damp feel in restaurant. Had to seat myself. Had to fetch my own menu. Told staff I was there. Walked out after 20min wait. Would have been more pleasant standing in the sleet than staring at the previous patron's half eaten meal on the uncleared table. A shame, because the venue has promise.

Excellent food and service. Stunning setting. Great staff. Well done!
