Alte Kalköfen Lodge

Really special place. Wonderful and warm owners, who clearly pour so much love and care into the lodge and farm. Sensational food. Really beautiful rooms… very comfortable and lovely views. We spent one night to split up a long drive, but will definitely spend longer the next time.

We had the best beds in all of Namibia — incredibly comfortable and restful. The food was outstanding, full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. And the night sky… absolutely breathtaking. A perfect place to relax, recharge, and enjoy the magic of the Namibian landscape.

Lovely place. Amazing views, and very good amenities. Staff were friendly and catered to any requests. Highly recommend for a place to stay over or longer stay. Friendly hosts and the on site lithops collection was a special treat.

We wanted a place to spend the night on our way to Fish River Canyon, and this lodge exceeded all our expectations (and then some). Welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent pool. Delicious food and breakfast spread. Calming views with the occasional wildlife. Indoor AND outdoor showers in the lodge! The air conditioner struggled to cool down our room, but it was 41 degrees that day so everyone was struggling a bit :)

An absolutely amazing place, incredible tranquil and the bungalows have all the small things that really make a place feel like a home from home. Dinner & breakfast are both fantastic & would 100% recommend a sundowner safari drive! Watching the sunset over the hills is a must. If you’re an early bird, the sunrises are also a must see!

This lodge really surprised me in a best way possible. I chose it just to break a long drive in to two days and this was practically the only option. Honestly, from very first moment I arrived and was greeted by the owners, I felt very comfortable and enjoyed my stayed. Every little detail in the bungalow was taken care of just like in a hotel. The setting is very picturesque, room has a view of the wast desert. The owner has her own nursery or lithops (plant I didn't know exists until this moment). There is also a dipping pool and a nice terrace for the sundowner. Dinner was delicious. Variety of meats? vegetables and home made dessert. Service very friendly and treating everyone warmly as a family. 100% recommended if you need to stay in this area.

We stayed as a couple. Beautiful setting , great walk, superb dinner and breakfast. Visit to the lithops nursery is a must. Wonderful hosts. Highly recommended

We stayed on the campsite for one night and everything was more than good. Friendly staff, delicious food (to order one day in advance) and nice, clean ablution facilities. Thank you very much. We enjoyed staying at your place.
