Forest Lane Clarens

We stayed in Units 1 and 3 at Forest Lane Guest House and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Both rooms were beautifully designed, with stylish interior decor and thoughtful touches that made them feel both comfortable and welcoming. The fireplace in Unit 1 was perfect for a chilly September evening, and the showers were absolutely amazing—great water pressure, ideal for anyone who enjoys a truly refreshing shower. Our host’s attention to detail was exceptional. Not only was communication flawless throughout, but she also offered fantastic local recommendations and even shared tips for the Titanic Challenge trail run that brought us to Clarens. With a combination of beautiful rooms, attentive service, and a warm, inviting atmosphere, Forest Lane is a true gem. Highly recommended and excellent value for money!

Clean, well kept room with a great shower. Beautiful mountain view and very friendly resident dogs.

Room has everything you need for a one night stay.It is right next to the main house. Bed is very comfortable as well as the shower. I would have appreciated some milk instead of cremora for the coffee. It was not as close to town as I hoped. Not really walking distance with a nasty gravel road if you have a small car. We had a nice stay, thank you

My husband and I and our 2 dogs were made to feel very welcome. The accommodation was perfect for overnighting with an enclosed garden for the dogs

Forest Lane is ideally located, close to the mountains, in the quaint little town Clarens, in the Free State, South Africa. The self catering rooms are stylishly decorated and super clean. This place can compete with the best accommodation establishments in the world. There are 3 different rooms, each decorated a little differrntly. We stayed in the room with the claw foot bath tub and separate shower. It even had a wood burning fire place. Personal touches from the super host Helena made us feel even more welcome. Helena went above and beyond to make our stay the best experience ever. The best part is this very upmarket, stylish accommodation is pet frienfly!!!! The owners have got 3 of the most beautiful and friendly Australian shepherd dogs, named, Floofy, Blue and Milo. Ideal for a romantic getaway or for a business trip.

What a delightful stay at Forest Lane no 1. The cottage caters to all the needs and I appreciated the heater in the bathroom and warm water bottles provided. The birds in the garden are delightful. Experiencing the pipes that freeze in Winter during the night was a novel experience- thank you for providing water and informing me. I hope to visit sooner than later again😃
