Upington Inn

Long wait at reception. No apology. Poor communication from staff. Internet doesn't work. Room ergonomics are atrocious and layout is messy, with miserable aesthetics. Don't be deceived by the professional photos. You have to do a lot of walking sideways, like a crab. Small ants have invaded and are on the beds. The sheets are of excellent quality with high thread-count. However, the low-end sprung mattresses compress en-masse, rather than accommodating the body. One risks rolling off the bed unless sleeping in the very centre. Electricity sockets are inaccessible without rearranging the furniture. Light fittings are messily hanging off the wall and are uncomfortably closely situated to the sleeper's head, emerging, bizarrely, from the headboard. Air-con is at opposite extremity from bed area. A noisy party is meters from the room with no "we hope you'll understand", which means this has obviously become normal. Last night's stay, elsewhere, cost 30% less and was approximately 150% better in nearly all respects.

I had the pleasant experience of staying in the Country Inn Springbok and Country inn Upington over the last 10 days . Both are well run , pleasant staff , helpful and lovely accommodation . Can recommend both these establishments .

We had a lovely overnight stay. The Food was excellent and the service was even better. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We only had a problem with a leaking aircon dripping in a bowl on the top of the closet. Other then that, really recommend this place.

This was a really nice stay. This was one of the few places I could find at the time that had a swimming pool. The view of the outdoor area is truly beautiful, with green grass and trees all over. They have laundry service and ironed all my clothes. The restaurant has a nice vibe and great for drinks. The rooms are super big and come with Aircon, a fridge, hairdryer, kettle, vault and a TV. The shower is very big and comes with lots of hot water. The beds are AWESOME and super comfortable! The linen is super white and clean! The staff are very helpful and very friendly. All and all, this was a great stay and certainly a Hotel I would return to one day.

Stayed at this wonderful hotel for 4 days. Nothing is too much for this hotel's staff. Friendly efficient service day after day. All our food was well prepared and tasteful. Best hake and chips I had for years. Maybe the best ever. I would suggest this hotel every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Thanks Upington inn for grate service and food! PS. Wifi was fast and always on. Power kept on with a generator. No discomfort here. Sparkking blue pool was a great way of cooling down in the Kalahari heat. I will be back!

With all my travel bookings at work, i always choose Country Hotels. I have stayed in kuruman at both hotels, upington for a week, kakamas including Springbok inn. The service and staff always going the extra mile to assist me. I will always support the hotels in the Northern Cape. Even now i am at the Kakamas Hotel enjoying the venue.

Beautiful places to stay at. Stuff is very friendly and welcoming. We only spent one night on our way from Namibia. Well kept and clean. Only negative from me is the air conditioning was not working that night and it was blazing hot. Breakfast is basic but really convenient at that price point.
