Getting There: The most popular and scenic route is from Cape Town via Route 62. Although this is a popular tourist route, it is not the quickest way of getting to Roam. The quickest route to Roam should take 5hr 15min. Take the N1 north bound (Paarl, Worcester, Laingsburg), 84km outside of Laingsburg turn right on the R407 toward Prince Albert. Upon reaching Prince Albert continue through the town and turn left onto Pastorie Str immediately after the PEP store (signage says Bush Pub). After 55km on the dirt road you will meet the N12 at a t-junction, turn left onto the N12 direction Beaufort West. From this turn it is 22km to the Roam turn off. The dirt road to Roam is sign boarded with a large blue sign on the left hand side. Turn left at the sign and continue 3km to the electric gate, travel another 3km to the reserve gate where a representative will meet you. Well worth the effort of getting here. Even from Johannesburg. Incredible experience. Fabulous people. Yummy food. So wonderful. Thank you! UPDATE Back in December 2023 and it's even better. Outdoor bathrooms. Unique experiences. Fantastic staff. Built for adults and yet brilliant for kids down to their own menu.

We had a wonderful time at roam! The staff was very knowledgeable about the wildlife and their habitat. The lodge was beautiful and the food was amazing. I would recommend this reserve to anyone who is looking to enhance their knowledge of wildlife, eat good food and have a relaxing stay!

Amazing place! Beautiful and quiet. A real African experience. Buffalo on your doorstep, viewing cheetah on foot, great bird watching. All under the watch of excellent guides.

We've been there twice now and absolutely love the place. The first time as a couple, now recently my 2 teenage daughters and me. The effort that Donovan and the staff put into making you feel at home is incredible, and the knowledge that Donovan shares on game drives is phenomenal! We will definitely be back!

A quite place away from the busy city life. Wonderful customer service. Everyone is extremely friendly and always smiling. The game drives are interesting and enjoyable. The guide Abigail was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the different animals along the ride. The animals were beautiful. We saw giraffe, buffalo, antelope, tortoise, springbok, cheetahs and others. I would suggest spending at least 2 full days to see all of them. Really one of the best outdoor experience! Will definitely go back one day.
