Madison Manor is an exclusive, owner-run luxurious Boutique Hotel, uniquely situated at the top of ‘town-hill’ with a 180-degree view of the town of Knysna, the lagoon and the famous Knysna Heads.

With 17 individually decorated rooms and suites, guests will be able to select the perfect accommodation for their needs. Each suite features a full en-suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, toilet and washbasin, a Smart TV with DStv channels, Wi-Fi internet access, in-room safe for valuables, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee tray and complimentary bottle of mineral water at night, a hairdryer and individual air-conditioning.

Swathed in history and splashed with flair and colour, each room has unique antique furniture depicting the Knysna, and South African, wood and timber history, adding to the avant-garde luxury, completed with modern amenities, plush comforts, high-tech facilities and exceptional services.

Our fully-fledged restaurant and licenced pub, The Red Austin, offers pub lunches and dinners, which mean that no time in the sun has to be sacrificed to go in search of food. The a la carte menu caters for all tastes.

From George Airport: - Exit the airport turn right onto the R404 and proceed for 2.4 km; - Turn left to merge onto the N2 and proceed for 400 m; - Merge onto the N2 and proceed for 11.2 km; - Use any lane to take the exit towards the N2 and proceed for 1.2 km; - Continue onto the N2 and proceed for 54.2 km entering Knysna on Main Road; - At the 5th set of traffic lights, turn left into Long Street; - Drive to the top of Long Street; - At the T-junction, turn left into Hill Street; - At the next T-junction, turn right into Thesen Hill; - At the curve of the road, just before the crest, turn left into Bosbou Street; - Follow the road to the end where the road turns right; - Enter the gabled gates. From Port Elizabeth direction: - Follow the N2. - On entering Knysna from the East, the N2 becomes the Main Road; - At the 4th set of traffic lights, turn right into Long Street; - Drive to the top of Long Street; - At the T-junction, turn left into Hill Street; - At the next T-junction, turn right into Thesen Hill; - At the curve of the road (just before the crest), turn left into Bosbou Street; - Follow the road to the end where the road turns right; - Enter the gabled gates.

Went for a suite, it was really nice and cool. It had nice chairs and a desk as well as a fire place I had no idea how to turn on. Bed was decently comfort and the room was warm It's next to frat houses and its so hard to tell which one is the hotel, was really wonderful experience. There is a pub in the other building also. Parking is alittle odd out back and is not free, was not too expensive though at 7 bucks over night and 13 bucks for the day

we booked 3 rooms a few months ago....My husband and i had been here before. We liked it. the rooms are quaint, the included breakfast was very good and the location was great as well as the subway is right out the back door. This time however. 2 of the 3 rooms were 86 degrees when we got there and one room could not have the heat lowered. Our room was not too bad at 5 in the morning. Two of the rooms had lots of noise which we were kind of expecting some noise. The hotel has a pub and its near the university. Our room needed a bit more cleaning in the bathroom, as there was mold on the shower curtain and the tap of the sink, well the handles were dirty. The included breakfast was all of a sudden not included...they directed us to the Tim's with no compensation of payment for the Tim's. The one room should not have been rented out at all. They will not give us any refund . We will never go back.

The service and rooms (super comfy bed and we'll appointed rooms) are wonderful at Madison Manor, and for central location and walkable around the University of Toronto, The Annex, and even to Little Italy is marvellous!! The rating challenge has only to do with location, which is next door to a VERY BUSY college pub and hangout, and next door to several frat houses. To be fair, we stayed during convocation week, however be aware of noise likely if staying over a Friday or Saturday night.

Quaint old mansion transformed into cute but basic hotel. Comfortable, clean and most importantly very affordable for the excellent location. It's on a kind of frat row, next to a huge pub popular with U of T students. Room was in the former servants' quarters, and many stairs were involved. I'd recommend it if you want to be central, want a unique environment and like going to pubs--and saving money, especially given the prices of big city hotels these days.

The location is really good. The rooms are worn and the air conditioning is loud. Good transport links. Budget. Next door is a pub with food and drink. A place popular with young people, but customers of all ages.
